  1. I think that every writer wants to have their work read, hence the vast number of blogs out there. We see many stories of how difficult it is for a writer to get their work published and creating a blog doesn't require any of those efforts or acceptances.
I believe that writers do want to have their work accepted and if they put it in a blog, they have a chance of being read globally rather than by one individual.
Bloggers will keep coming back to see who has read their posts and what comments they have received.
I think that there are a phenominal number of lonely readers out there who are searching for human contact that isn't sexual in nature. Following blogs could be a form of mental stimulation if you can find the right ones.
It seems that life is about connections and the web is about connections in a technical form, but it is still people connecting. "Art imitates life" Web writing could be considered an art form and it is also a way for people to connect to each other in cyberspace, it is also a way for people to stay connected that are separated by many miles. You can send photos and videos, not just talk on the phone or write letters. It is a new form of communication.
